Drumstick

सहजन

Drumstick (murungakkai/sahjan) is the long, ridged pod of the Moringa tree — one of the most nutritious vegetables in Indian cuisine. Used in sambar (essential), drumstick curry, drumstick soup, and Sindhi kadhi. The pulpy interior is eaten by scraping — the fibrous shell is not eaten. Exceptionally rich in nutrients and anti-inflammatory compounds.

Ayurveda view: warming nature — calms Vata and Kapha, increases Pitta.
