- Gram Flour — 100 g (ground)
- green chillies — 250 g (chopped)
- salt (optional) — 13.5 to_taste (whole)
Tempering
- Coconut Oil — 2 tbsp (whole)
Method
- Wash the large green bajji chillies, slit them lengthwise, and scrape out excess seeds.
- Whisk gram flour with salt and water into a thick coating batter.
- Heat coconut oil in a deep kadhai on medium flame.
- Dip each slit chilli fully into the batter and slide into the hot oil.
- Fry in batches, turning occasionally, until golden and crisp; drain on paper towels. Serve hot with fresh grated coconut chutney -- Dharwad's iconic street-side mirchi bajji.
