- Wheat Flour (Atta) — 250 g (ground)
- Curd — 4 tbsp (whole)
- sugar — 1 tsp (whole)
- Active Dry Yeast (Bakery Grade) — 2 tsp (whole)
- Butter — 20 g (whole)
- salt (optional) — 5 g (whole)
Tempering
- Mustard Oil — 15 g (whole)
Method
- In a large bowl, mix the wheat flour, salt, sugar and yeast. Add the curd and mustard oil, then gradually add warm water and knead into a soft, slightly sticky dough.
- Cover the dough and rest it in a warm place for 1-2 hours, until it roughly doubles in size.
- Divide the dough into portions and roll each into an oval or teardrop shape.
- Cook on a very hot tawa or in a preheated oven/tandoor until the naan puffs up and browns in spots on both sides.
- Brush generously with melted butter, garnish with coriander leaves, and serve hot.
