
Thalipeeth
Multi-grain spiced flatbread with butter. Everyday Maharashtrian breakfast.

Ingredients
Garnish
- Coriander Leaves (optional) (garnish) — 2 tbsp (chopped)
Main
- Ghee — 2 tbsp (whole)
- salt (optional) (whole)
- Butter — 100 g (whole)
- Thalipeeth Bhajani (Slow-Roasted Spiced Multigrain Flour) — 220 g
- Water — 1 cup (whole)
Tempering
Method
- Brush a tawa with a little of the oil and warm it on medium flame.
- Mix the Thalipeeth Bhajani with salt in a wide bowl.
- Add the Water a little at a time and knead into a soft dough that just holds together.
- Take a ball, pat it on a wet cloth or straight on the tawa into a 15 cm round, and make a hole in the centre.
- Pour oil and Ghee into the hole and around the edge, cover and cook 3 minutes until the base browns.
- Flip it and cook 2-3 minutes uncovered until crisp and speckled.
- Top the hot thalipeeth with a thick pat of Butter, garnish with Coriander Leaves and serve at once.
