
Goan Samosa
Goan-style samosa with coconut and spiced potato filling. Crispier and slightly sweeter than North Indian.

Garnish
- Coriander Leaves (optional) (garnish) — 2 tbsp (chopped)
Main
- salt (optional) (whole)
- onion — 60 g (chopped)
- Potato — 100 g (chopped)
- Turmeric Powder — 1 g (whole)
- garam masala powder — 2 g (whole)
- Red Chilli Powder (Lal Mirch) — 2 g (whole)
- All-purpose Flour — 200 g (ground)
- coriander powder — 2 g (whole)
- Coconut — 100 g (chopped)
Tempering
- Coconut Oil — 2 tbsp (whole)
Method
- Knead maida with a little oil and water into a stiff dough. Cover and rest for 20-30 minutes.
- Boil the potato, peel and mash coarsely. Heat coconut oil, saute chopped onion until soft.
- Add turmeric, red chilli powder, garam masala and coriander powder to the onion, saute briefly.
- Add the mashed potato and grated coconut, mix well and cook for 2-3 minutes. Cool completely, then stir in coriander leaves.
- Roll the dough into thin ovals, cut in half, shape each half into a cone, fill with the potato-coconut mixture and seal the edges with water.
- Deep fry in a kadhai on low-medium flame until golden and crisp. Drain and serve hot with chutney.
