
Jeera Rice

- Turmeric Powder — 0.5 tsp (ground)
- Red Chilli Powder (Lal Mirch) — 1 tsp (ground)
- Basmati Rice — 250 g (ground)
- Cumin Seeds — 12 g (whole)
- Ghee — 35 g (whole)

Method
- Wash and soak the basmati rice for 20 minutes; drain and cook till just done with grains separate. Keep aside.
- Heat ghee in a kadai. Add cumin seeds and let them splutter and turn fragrant.
- Lower the heat, add turmeric and red chilli powder; saute for a few seconds.
- Add the cooked rice and salt; toss gently to coat every grain without breaking them.
- Cook for a minute on low flame, then garnish with coriander leaves.
- Serve Jeera Rice hot as an accompaniment to any gravy dish.
