
Kerala Coconut Chutney

Main
- green chillies — 3 piece (chopped)
- Coconut — 250 g (chopped)
- salt (optional) (whole)
Tempering
- Coconut Oil — 2 tbsp (whole)
- Mustard Seeds (Black) — 0.9 tsp (whole)
- Urad Dal — 0.6 tsp (whole)
- Curry Leaves — 2 piece (ground)
Method
- Grate the fresh coconut finely.
- Grind the grated coconut with the green chillies and a little salt, adding water as needed, to a smooth chutney.
- Heat coconut oil in a small pan; add mustard seeds and let them splutter, then add urad dal and curry leaves and fry until the dal turns golden.
- Pour the hot tempering over the coconut chutney and mix well. Serve with idli, dosa or appam.
