
Dharwad Dahi
North Karnataka style tadka dahi (seasoned curd). Whisked curd is finished with a hot tempering of mustard seeds, urad dal, curry leaves and red chilli in coconut oil, then garnished with coriander. A cooling everyday side for rice and rotti.

Garnish
- Coriander Leaves (optional) (garnish) — 2 tbsp (chopped)
Main
- Red Chilli Powder (Lal Mirch) — 1 tsp (ground)
- salt (optional) (whole)
- Turmeric Powder — 0.5 tsp (ground)
- Curd — 100 g (whole)
Tempering
- Urad Dal — 1 tsp (whole)
- Coconut Oil — 2 tbsp (whole)
- Mustard Seeds (Black) — 1 tsp (whole)
- Curry Leaves — 8 piece (ground)
Method
- Take thick curd in a bowl, add a little milk and whisk until smooth and lump-free. Add salt and mix.
- Heat coconut oil in a small tempering pan. Add mustard seeds and let them splutter.
- Add urad dal and fry till light golden, then add curry leaves and broken red chilli. Switch off and add turmeric powder and red chilli powder.
- Pour the hot tempering over the whisked curd and mix gently.
- Garnish with chopped coriander leaves. Serve cool with rice or jolada rotti.
