
Tribal Mahua Laddu
Laddus made from dried mahua flowers with jaggery. Forest flower sweet unique to tribal Jharkhand.

- Cardamom — 2 piece (ground)

- Jaggery — 100 g (whole)
- Mahua Flower — 100 g
Tempering
- Mustard Oil — 2 tbsp (whole)
Method
- Soak the dried mahua flowers in water for a few hours until soft, then drain well and lightly chop.
- Heat the mustard oil in a heavy pan and sauté the soaked mahua flowers on low flame until their moisture reduces and they turn aromatic and lightly roasted.
- Add the jaggery and a pinch of salt, mixing well, and cook on low flame until the jaggery melts and coats the mahua evenly into a sticky mixture.
- Add the cardamom powder and mix thoroughly.
- Let the mixture cool slightly until warm enough to handle, then shape into small round laddus. Cool completely before storing.
